You've drawn my name!! Hooray!! I'm so excited to see what you will create for me. No matter what it ends up being, I'm sure it will be amazing.
First, some please DO NOTS: child abuse, incest, scat porn, torture rape/dub-con. If these already appear in canon, please glancing references only!
Definitely dos!!
- Hopeful and/or bittersweet endings, just not the unrelenting grim darkness of the far future
• FRIENDSHIP FIC. You can never go wrong with friendship fic as far as I’m concerned.
• Most of my prompts are fairly gen. I've pointed out ships I ship, but if you ship something else, I'll gladly read it.
• Historical AUs
• People on opposite side who care about each other! Whether it's enemies-turned-(grudging)-friends or friends-turned-(grudging)-enemies or any other variation on this theme, I love this trope very dearly.
• Complicated relationships and conflicted loyalties in general, really.
• Superpowers!
• Canon-divergent AUs! Allllllll the “WHAT IF” fics. ALL OF THEM.
• Worldbuilding! Fuck yeah, worldbuilding.
• Folktales/fairytales/etc.
- I have a horrible shameful weakness for coffeeshop/bookstore/bakery AUs
• If all else fails, you can always stick any random combination of characters on a roadtrip/force them to work together and have them become friends and I will eat it up with a spoon.
Obviously not all of these can be incorporated into a single fic. Feel free to use any or none of them!! They should just function as a basic idea.
Now onto the individual fandoms!!
The Raven Cycle: I love these books obsessively. Anything focusing on the Main Five (Blue, Gansey, Ronan, Adam, Noah) will be welcomed with joy. I do ship Ronan/Adam but feel free to ignore if it's not your cup of tea. I'm also deeply curious about Niall Lynch. How did he discover his Greywaren powers? What did he think of Ronan inheriting them? Did he know the danger he was bringing to his son? And Matthew....how much does he see in his brothers? Does he know he's a dream? How was it for Declan growing up as nobody's favourite? Also Maura and Calla. I would love to see them as young women, just meeting, or when Blue's father appeared, or after the third book dealing with Persephone's death. Or even just anything in Calla's voice. I adore her.
Protector of the Small: These are still possibly my favourite Tamora Pierce books. The character list included everyone I could possibly want, so go with your heart here. If it's going to get shippy I have a light preference for Kel/Dom and Raoul/Buri but I'll go with anything and I will also be delighted with gen.
Midsummer Night's Dream: Bwahaha!! This was the first Shakespeare play I ever read and it kickstarted my love of the Bard. I want to see more of the lovers. What are their lives like after their night in the forest? Do they stay friends? Or....give me an AU. Put them in a bookstore or on a roadtrip and watch the shenanigans ensue!!
Earthsea: Oh my heart. These were formative fantasy for me. Tenar is so brave and I would love to know more of her story in between where we leave her story after her escape from Atuan and where it picks up on Gont. Similarly I want to see more of Ogion as he was before we meet him in A Wizard of Earthsea. How was he as a young man?
Emelan: Tris. Tris Tris Tris. Give me Tris at Lightsbridge, Tris starting a career, Tris confronting her family, Tris in another universe. I love her so. Anything, everything, just...give me Tris.
