These are the rest of my haul from[personal profile] taennyn .  All are BPAL unless noted otherwise.

Glasgow: The rich scent of wild blackberry breezing over gentle rosy heather.

This...smells like soap on me.  Just...soap. Nothing else. No blackberry, no heather, just plain soap. I'm kind of disappointed. :(

Kitsune-tsuki: Asian plum, orchid, daffodil, jasmine and white musk.

This comes out as overwhelmingly floral, both in the bottle and on me. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against florals!! This just has so MUCH floral. Probably mostly the orchid and jasmine overwhelming everything. It would probably be very pleasant for someone else, but....it's supposed to be kitsune. Floral is Just Wrong.

Morocco: Arabian spices wind through a blend of warm musk, carnation, red sandalwood and cassia.

Oooh, I like this. It's really sweet and mild with a tiny bite of pleasant spice. Warm, dry, and summery. Musk and red sandalwood is what I'm smelling primarily. Calming. Lovely. Definitely keeping.

Queen Alice: Carnation, posies, and white amber with a hint of inky treacle, sandy cider, and wooly wine.

This is kind of spicy floral. Posies and amber with the bite of the carnations. Lots of carnation, actually. It's really nice, just...not for me

London: Venerable Victorian Tea Rose… twisted, blackened and emboldened with wickedness.

I liked this. It was a very clear, dry rose scent, not overwhelming or cloying like a lot of them can be. I think I'm keeping this one.

Lightning: Lightning slashing the midnight skies over the endless reaches of the ocean. The electric tang of ozone, marine notes, and a drop of sharp rain.

WAUGH GET THIS AWAY FROM ME. This didn't even make it on my skin. I don't know what's in it, and I don't care. Nope nope nope.

Rapture: Moroccan rose, Sumatran rose, mandarin, Egyptian myrrh, night-blooming jasmine, bergamot and neroli thrust into Arabian musk.

Overly floral again. Just..no.

Ra: (no description findable. Thanks, BPAL)

This smells like marsh grass. With a hint of frog intestine. Green and organic with a bit of rot underneath. I don't want it.

Mantis: Crushed herbs and sweet amber resin with a streak of patchouli, neroli and golden musk.

This smells like marine varnish. Nothing else. Just varnish. I got nothin'.

Pride: Vanity in extremis. The scent of rabid hauteur: Moroccan rose and narcissus.

....apparently my vice? This is rose with a hint of a bite behind it. I like.

Hecate: Deep, buttery almond layered over myrrh and dark musk.

Almonds. So much almond. Not the sweet marzipan type of almond but real, pure almonds, the ones with cyanide lurking at the heart. The myrrh and musk add a lovely dark smoky note behind it all. So much love for this.

Black Opal: A play of geological darkness and jagged brilliance. Soft and luminescent with flashes of black fire.

Yet another one without a useful write-up. Mostly on me this smells like a really creamy vanilla, but without any sort of artificial sweet that would ruin the scent. There's a darker note behind it all...maybe musk again? Either way I like it. It's very soft.

October (2007): Dry, cold autumn wind. A rustle of red leaves, a touch of smoke and sap in the air.

In the bottle this was incredibly sharp and biting, like cheap men's cologne. When applied to my skin, it immediately went to mouldering leaves and rot with dirt behind it. It smells like a compost heap left too long unattended. Interesting, but definitely Do Not Like.

I have one more stash of imps to test and write up and then I'm done.  I will put together a list of swaps and give-aways after that. :)

Hrm, I have an imp of Glasgow coming, I hope it does better on me. Then again, I'm currently wearing Lightning, so I'm guessing our skin chemistry is RATHER different. =P

Sharp and clear, like a freshwater pond full of lilies and reeds on a wet spring day. It's bracing and noticeable, rather than comforting and nice, but sometimes I want that. I get zero ozone or rain from it, which is a pity, since that's what attracted me to it in the first place.

If I could find a perfume that made me smell like petrichor, I'd buy a mason jar full of it.

I'm over here laughing because while we seem to have very similar methods in our sniffing/review habits, we seem to have very opposite reactions to the scents themselves. Several of your OHGODNO descriptions sound like fantastic to me. XD I can already tell I'll be pouncing on your trade/gift list when it goes up.
